About Us

We Believe Everyone Deserves to Feel Whole

Bay Area Transitional Services was founded on a simple conviction: that compassionate, culturally responsive mental health care should be accessible to everyone — regardless of background, identity, or circumstance.

Compassionate care at Bay Area Transitional Services

Our Mission

To provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care that honors the whole person — their history, their culture, their strengths, and their goals.

Our Story

Built on Lived Experience and Clinical Excellence

Bay Area Transitional Services grew out of a recognition that too many people in our community were falling through the cracks — underserved by systems that weren't designed with them in mind. Our founders, a group of licensed clinicians with deep roots in the Bay Area, set out to build something different.

From the beginning, we've been committed to meeting clients where they are — not where a system expects them to be. That means flexible scheduling, telehealth access, sliding scale fees, and a team that reflects the rich diversity of the communities we serve.

What We Stand For

The Principles That Guide Us

Compassion First

Every client walks through our door carrying something. We lead with empathy, patience, and genuine care — always.

Cultural Humility

We honor the full complexity of each person's identity and background. Our team is trained in culturally responsive care and committed to ongoing learning.

Evidence-Based Practice

We draw on the best available research — CBT, DBT, trauma-informed approaches, and more — while remaining flexible to what each individual needs.

Accessibility

Mental health care shouldn't be a privilege. We offer sliding scale fees, telehealth, and flexible hours to remove as many barriers as possible.

Community

We are part of the Bay Area community — not just a service within it. We show up, collaborate, and invest in the wellbeing of the people around us.

Growth

We believe in the capacity for change — in our clients and in ourselves. We pursue continuous learning, supervision, and professional development.
